Russia, US clash at UNSC meeting, Syria envoy blames govt & opposition for escalation

Accusations flew between the US and Russian envoys at an emergency session of the UN Security Council, convened over the escalating bloodshed in Syria. While American ambassador Samantha Power slammed Moscow for failing to stop the violence, her Russian counterpart Vitaly Churkin pointed out peace is impossible when terrorists are getting weapons from Western backers.
